accident two car 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (6/19/14) — The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on South Second Street, in Central City, Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 9:25 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Colton Sweeney, 22, of Greenville, Ky., was operating a 2001 Ford Taurus southbound on South Second Street. Starr Latham, 16, of Central City, Ky., was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound on South Second Street. As Mr. Sweeney was attempting to make a left turn into the McDonald’s parking lot, the two vehicles collided.

The passenger in Ms. Latham’s vehicle, Logan Franklin, 16, of Central City, Ky., was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Ms. Latham was not injured. Mr. Sweeney and his passenger, Adam Robertson, 24, of Beech Creek, Ky., were not injured. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Trooper Jacob Fortney investigated the collision.

The Central City Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
