Owensboro Police Department Accident Reports

oboro police 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/7/14) — Owensboro Police Department reported the following recent accidents:

At 1:33 a.m. on July 2, Austin Pointer, 21, Owensboro, apparently struck an unoccupied parked vehicle in the 2200 block of W. 10th St. Owensboro Police said Pointer and two other passengers in the vehicle allegedly fled the scene on foot. Pointer was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and leaving the scene of an accident. Others in the car were charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.

At 9:22 a.m. on July 2, a Platte City, Mo., woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision in the 800 block of E. Second St. Owensboro Police said Deborah Keighley, 51, was turning left when she apparently collided with David George, 61, Rockport, Ind. Authorities said George claimed Keighley made the turn from the right-hand lane but that Keighley told them she moved into the left lane before beginning the turn. Keighley was taken to Owensboro Health by ambulance.
