Owensboro Shooting Investigation

Darrell-D.-HendersonDarrell D. HendersonOWENSBORO, Ky. (7/16/14) — The ongoing investigation by Owensboro Police Department detectives has resulted in the identification of the shooting suspect.

The incident occurred Tuesday July 15, 2014.

Owensboro Police Department Officers responded to a shooting call in the 1700 block of Alexander Avenue. Officers located the victim, Brian Thorpe, 47, of the 1700 block of Alexander Avenue, with a gunshot wound to his right hip area. Witnesses advised that Thorpe had been in a verbal altercation with a white male subject, who brandished a handgun and shot Thorpe in the right hip area.

A warrant of arrest has been obtained for the charge of Assault, First Degree, for Darrell D. Henderson, 39 of Henderson.
