muh-in-prayerGREENVILLE, Ky. (7/17/14) — The Muhlenberg Pray-In Vigil started yesterday morning in the Greenville square.

According to Ann Sparks, one of the organizers, attendance has been good.

Sparks was sitting on a bench watching Emma Clark help people place their hands on a hand mural. The mural has the outline of each hand that has helped pray for the county.

Shane Clark was with his family — Sherry Clark and Noah Clark to take part in the vigil. Clark, who was painting, said he wanted to pray with his family and help express his feelings with art. There were many pieces of art at the square, including sidewalk art being worked on by several children.

Shelby Latham said she brought her youth group from Awaking Community Church to pray for the county and hold Bible lessons. Latham, who is the youth director for her church, said the event was being sponsored by many churches in the county and she wanted her children to participate.

The 24-hour vigil ended this morning, July 17. A benediction celebration at the Merle Travis Center in Powderly will follow with keynote speaker Jake Hamilton.

Everyone is welcome.
