BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (7/22/14) — Owensboro Southern blanked Knox County 13-0 in five innings in the final game of pool play in the Little League Baseball 11-year-old State Tournament at Ephram White Park in Bowling Green Monday.
On the mound for Owensboro Southern, Harrison Bowman tossed five innings and earned the win. The stout Owensboro Southern pitcher was strong from start to finish in the pool play matchup. Bowman registered seven strikeouts and tossed a one-hitter for the winning team.
In addition to the stellar pitching, Owensboro Southern also flourished offensive3ly. Numerous Owensboro Southern batters excelled at the plate.
Offensively for the Owensboro Southern, Austin Gough went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs.
Tanner Klee went 2-for-4 with a home run, double and a game-high four RBIs for Owensboro Southern,.
Also contributing at the plate for Owensboro Southern, Koki Kato delivered two doubles and Jake Hunt and Grant Oller added one double and two RBIs apiece.With the win, Owensboro Southern improved to 2-1 in pool play.
