OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/28/14) — The Owensboro Police Department has announced that they are hosting the United States Police Canine Association Region 5 certification trials.
Between Monday, August 4 and Friday, August 8, more than 40 K-9 handlers and their K-9 partners from Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, will descend on Owensboro to fulfill their required annual certifications.
On Tuesday, August 5, the K-9 teams will complete their day with a public demonstration. The demonstration is free to the public and will start with a vehicle parade which will bring all units together at the Daviess County High School football stadium.
Once gathered inside the stadium, the public will be able to watch as the K-9 teams show off their skills in the areas of suspect apprehension and agility. The demonstration is scheduled to last approximately 90 minutes.Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to witness first hand, the skills used to help fight crime in your community.
