Child Injured, Man Charged With DUI in Two-Vehicle Crash

dui-wreck-OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/30/14) — A 4-year-old child was taken to Owensboro Health for treatment following a two-vehicle accident at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 on Scherm Road in Owensboro.

According to Owensboro Police, Clarence Potts, 73, Owensboro, apparently ran into the back of Joshua Wheatley, 36, Owensboro, as the two were each driving west on Scherm Road.

Potts was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, police said.

The child who was taken to the hospital was a passenger in Wheatley’s vehicle.
