OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/4/14) — A man wanted in connection with a suspected shooting incident earlier this year was arrested Friday night, Owensboro Police reported.
Darrell Henderson, 39, was charged with first degree assault, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, third degree possession of a controlled substance and other charges in connection with the July 15 shooting of an Owensboro man in the 1700 block of Alexander Ave.
Authorities said Henderson admitted to shooting the victim, Brian Thorpe, and to throwing the handgun used in the shooting into the Ohio River.Henderson also faces charges from other incidents, including probation violations for previous convictions as well as charges of fleeing or evading police for allegedly climbing into the driver’s seat of a vehicle where he was a passenger while it was stopped by police.
