Blossoms-at-The-Hampton

OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/5/14) — A local clothing and boutique store that’s been in business for the last 10 years welcomed guests to its new location at The Hampton next to the Owensboro Convention Center downtown.

Blossoms owner Vicki Mills said expanding into the new downtown hotel space is something she had been considering since first learning about the plans to build the hotel. She said she contacted the owner of the hotel, Malcolm Bryant, and discussed her vision with him.

Mills and her daughter, Jessica McKinley, said Blossoms at The Hampton has the unique distinction of being the first independently owned business inside the first independently owned Hampton/Hilton chain.

The store offers a similar line of clothing and boutique items as its main location on Frederica St. One of the goals for the new location is to serve clients visiting Owensboro’s downtown area.

Mills said the new store’s hours haven’t been determined yet, and that she has been testing different hours of operation. She said the store will be open six days a week, and closed Sundays.
