youth fishingMADISONVILLE, Ky. (4/9/13/) - The Hopkins County First Christian Church Relay for Life Team will be hosting a Youth Bass Fishing Tournament April 20, 2013 from 8:00am-12:00pm at the Madisonville City Park located on 755 Park Ave. Participants will be meeting at the bandstand.
 
This event is sponsored by the Kentucky Delta Rural Project, The City of Madisonville Parks and Recreation Department, Chris Taylor (Superintendent), Fish and Wildlife and Winding Creek Bait Shop. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for ages 5-13. Parents or guardians must accompany their children at all times. Food and drinks will be available for donations and rentable fishing equipment and artificial and live bait will also be available. The entrance fee is free to anyone who wants to join in on the fun.
 
Darrin Pettit would like the community to know, “We wanted to do something a little different for the community, as a community service event, we thought fishing might be a great way to give parents and kids something to do together. We just want the community to come out and have great day having fun with their families.”
