Chamber Members Tour New Hospital Complex at Rooster Booster

oboro health2 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/2/13) – At the group’s monthly “Rooster Booster” meeting this morning, Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce members were invited to be among the first to tour the nearly completed Owensboro Health new hospital facility. A maximum seating limit of 400 was placed on the event, which quickly “sold out” as people were required to register in advance.

Inside large tents set up on the hospital’s parking lot, a packed house heard from Owensboro Health President and CEO Dr. Jeff Barber just before dividing into small groups to walk through the facility.

Barber said the facility, which took several years to complete, was completely designed with the future of health care in mind.

“We are well positioned to benefit from the changes in health care reform,” he said.

A short video presentation about the hospital was shown during Barber’s speech to the crowd. It was pointed out during the video that the new facility will reduce response times in multiple areas, and provide more space for visitors.

The hospital, located on Pleasant Valley Rd., will be open to the public for tours this weekend.
