policeOWENSBORO, KY (11-26-11) – Local law-enforcement authorities say that a 13-year-old Owensboro girl recently scared off an intruder with a bat.

According to officials, the girl heard the pair attempting to break in to the home and proceeded to hide her younger sister in the bathroom. Hiding in the adjoining bedroom, she waited for the intruders to come close, and then attacked them with the bat causing them to flee.  

According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, 36-year-old Jason Harris of Hopkinsville, and 24-year-old Ben Canary of Evansville were arrested on 2nd degree Robbery charges after authorities found their vehicle abandoned and located them nearby.
