BLACKBIRDS 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (4/3/13) – A pyrotechnic event, which is part of the City of Owensboro’s blackbird control program, will start today, April 3 and possibly last until Friday, April 5 around the intersection of Fernwood and South Stratford Drives starting between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Justin Mahoney, wildlife specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s APHIS Wildlife Services, will set off pyrotechnics each evening.  Residents in the area should expect the loud noises and flashing lights from the controlled pyrotechnics during that time.  The City of Owensboro apologizes for any inconvenience.
