OWENSBORO, KY (12/16/11) – On Thursday, December 15, 2011, officers from the Owensboro police department responded to a robbery call at 528 Cedar Street.
The victim, Bishop John McRaith, told officers that two females came to his door and demanded money. When McRaith removed his wallet, one of the females grabbed his wrist and struggled for his wallet. The two females got away with the wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers later arrested Tara Lynn Pope and Olympia Jean Fields on Charges of Robbery 1st degree.
They are housed in the Daviess County detention center.
John McRaith is the former bishop of the diocese of Owensboro. He was appointed to his post on October 23, 1982, and ordained to his post on December 15, 1982. He retired in January, 2009.
Attempts to reach Bishop McRaith by SurfKY news for comment were unsuccessful.
