OWENSBORO, KY (12-19-2011) – SurfKY news has just received new information that an elderly man was killed in a house fire in Daviess County on Monday, December 19th.
Firefighters responded to the call at approximately 1 a.m.
Later on Monday, local law enforcement released the name of the man, following notification on the man’s family.
As was reported, 70 year-old Bobby Lancaster was killed in the house fire, which took place at 1144 Yelvington Lane near Maceo.
Captain Bill Thompson with the Daviess County Sheriff’s office tells SurfKY news that after battling the blaze, Lancaster’s body was found by firefighters in the living room area of the home. The body was transported to the state medical examiner’s office yesterday. The cause of death was determined as smoke inhalation.
