Men Attempt to Rob West Owensboro Hotel

 

crime scene burglaryOWENSBORO, KY (12/21/11) – Officers with the Owensboro Police Department responded to a call about a robbery at the Ramada Inn on West 2nd Street at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011.
 
According to Owensboro Police Department, a black and a white male both entered the hotel lobby, and demanded money from the front desk. The white male was armed with a shotgun and both suspects were wearing tan Carhart jackets. The suspects fled on foot before getting any money.
 
SurfKY News attempted to contact the security officer for the Ramada Inn, but he was unavailable for comment at the time of the call.
 
Robberies are becoming more commonplace in Owensboro. SurfKY news has brought you several stories of instances where a robbery occurred or was attempted in the last several weeks alone. Statistically, Owensboro is a community where 6.1 robberies occur per ten thousand people. In the year 2009, there were 34 robberies that occurred that year. 28 robberies occurred in Owensboro in 2010.
