Drunk Driver Crashes Vehicle, Narrowly Misses House

truck accident

OWENSBORO, KY (12/30/11) - OWENSBORO, KY (12/29/2011) – At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Thursday night, Owensboro Police Department received a complaint that an individual had crashed a pickup truck into several other vehicles, narrowly missed crashing into a house, and then fled the scene on the foot at the 1500 block of Tamarack Road.

Driver Justin Louden was taken into custody just minutes after the accident took place.

Lee Ann Mullen, a neighbor who lives across from the residence, told SurfKY News that the suspect lost control of the vehicle after crashing into approximately 3-4 vehicles, and missed crashing into the home of Debbie Carter by only a few feet.

Mullen stated, “It’s a miracle that he missed the house by such a short distance. She (Carter) was lying on the couch just on the other side of that wall. She is very lucky.”

SurfKY reporters were on scene as officers with Owensboro Police Department located the man and conducted a field sobriety test, which according to officers on scene, had to be ended early because the suspect was becoming uncooperative and was falling down.

No injuries were reported in the accident.

SurfKY News will bring you more details as they become available to us.
