HENDERSON, KY (3/23/12) – The Henderson County High School Monitor Educate Dispose and Secure (MEDS)/Community Awareness Team, as well as community leaders from Union County, has been invited to a private lunch with Attorney General Jack Conway and Van Ingram, Executive Director of the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy, on Monday, March 26th at Union County High School.
Conway and Ingram will speak to the Union County High School student body about abuse of prescription drugs. The Union County Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (ASAP) local board coordinated this event for Union County High School students.
Four students on the Henderson County High School MEDS/Community Awareness Team will attend the luncheon with their Health Science teacher, Ashley Bailey. The students are Laura Kirk, Dallas Dohrn, Riley Thompson, and Amanda Keown.
“We are really excited to meet with Attorney General Conway and Mr. Ingram as well as hear them speak on the rising problem of prescription drug abuse. Not only will this further educate the HCHS MEDS Team, but it will also help give them ideas to continue to bring awareness to the HCHS student body,” said Ashley Bailey.
