Henderson Downtown Farmers Market Kickoff Day

FruitHENDERSON, KY (6/12/12) – The 2012 Henderson Downtown Farmers Market Kick-Off Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 23 at the market, located at the corner of Second and Water streets.

In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables grown and sold by local farmers, Kick-Off Day will feature plenty of activities for folks of all ages, including hands-on displays of farm trucks and tractors, free hayrides, an agriculture-themed plein air painting contest for kids, live music from Henderson artist Andy Norvell, grilled pork chop sandwiches, door prizes and much, much more.

The event is free to the public. New vendors wishing to participate in the market should contact Jeff Porter at (270) 826-8387. Anyone wishing to display a truck or tractor at the Kick-Off Day can simply bring it to the market between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. the day of the event. They’ll be instructed where to park their display at that time.

The Downtown Farmers Market Kick-Off Day is a joint effort of the Henderson-Henderson County Chamber of Commerce’s Agriculture Committee and the Henderson County Extension Office.
