HENDERSON, KY (7/5/12) - Jefferson Elementary Principal Kasey Farmer has recently accepted the Attendance Specialist 1 position for the Henderson County Schools.
Kasey Farmer will resume her duties as principal at Jefferson Elementary until the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year at which time a new principal will be in place.
The Attendance Specialist 1 responsibilities include devoting time and efforts to discover problems that result in non-attendance and lack of adjustment to school situations. The specialist shall hold conferences with principals, teachers, and parents of children with attendance, social, and behavioral problems. Ms. Farmer will also be responsible for working with pupils, teachers, counselors, and parents in developing and understanding the functions of the school and situations surrounding attendance issues. She will then help to eliminate truancy and irregular attendance.
The position became available when former Social Worker/Court Liaison, Rhonda Gillham, retired in June of 2012.
