child blood driveHENDERSON, Ky. (2/5/13) – Cairo Elementary is hosting a blood drive on February 7, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. during parent/ teacher conferences.

Blood collected during the drive will go to those in need such as baby Archer, grandson of Deborah Harman, Speech/Language Pathologist at Cairo Elementary. Archer has a rare, genetic blood condition and requires a blood transfusion every 4-5 weeks.

Cairo Elementary students are aware of people in need such as baby Archer and want to help. Cairo Elementary and the American Red Cross have encouraged Cairo kids to be “pint-sized heroes” by telling their family members about the Blood Drive and asking them to donate. “Pint-sized heroes” names will be displayed throughout the school and will be recognized at a Cairo Elementary assembly following the blood drive.
