HENDERSON, Ky. (2/9/13) – Henderson County Schools Child Nutrition department is pleased to recognize the newest certified members of the ServSafe program, which is a nationally accredited food safety certification from the National Restaurant Association.
Of the 86 full-time kitchen staff members, a total of 66 have passed the ServSafe exam. Four schools are now 100% certified: Cairo, Jefferson, Spottsville, and the Thelma B. Johnson Early Learning Center.
According to the ServSafe website, the program blends the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research and years of food sanitation training experience. All content and materials are based on actual job tasks identified by food service industry experts.
