Road Crews Patrol for 'Trouble Spots'

snow alert 01 300HENDERSON, Ky. (3/25/13) – Kentucky highway crews continue to be on standby in a number of counties due to a couple of bands of snow that have developed overnight.

Union, Henderson, Daviess, and Hancock County crews have been patrolling through the night. They have mainly been watching for potential trouble spots on bridges and overpasses. At this time, snow is sticking to vehicles at some locations, but highway driving surfaces have remained clear.

The heaviest snow appears to be along a strip running from Crittenden County across Lyon County to Trigg County. Enough snow has accumulated from this band to make lawns white. However, pavement remains wet with only occasional slushy spots on hilltops, bridges and overpasses.

The ambient air temp is holding around 31 to 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Pavement driving surface temps are running from the mid-30's to about 40.
