UPDATE: 4:02 p.m. HENDERSON. Ky. - A 45-year-old Henderson man has been arrested on charges of robbing Independence Bank. According to the Henderson Police Department, detectives with the Henderson Police Department received information that the bank robbery suspect from Independence Bank had also been to Banktrust Financial on Barrett Blvd. before going to Independence Bank. Authorities said detectives also received a tip stating that a man fitting that description had recently been incarcerated in the Webster County Jail.  Detectives began to canvass the area around Independence Bank and went to a residence in the 600 block of Washington Street, where they located David W. Sharp.  Authorities alleged Sharp matched the photos from the Independence Bank robbery, the Fifth Third Bank robbery (on 4-3-13) and the security videos from Banktrust.  A search warrant was obtained for his room at the residence and evidence linking him to the robbery at Independence Bank and Fifth Third Bank was allegedly located. 

David W. Sharp was arrested and charged with two counts of Robbery First Degree. He was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center.

HENDERSON, Ky. (4/10/13) – On April 9 at 3:30 p.m, Independence Bank located at 76 South Green Street in Henderson was robbed, according to Henderson Police. Authorities said a white male entered the building and approached the teller. He handed her a note which demanded money and the note also stated that he had a weapon. The teller complied and the man left through the south door and then east on Washington Street.

The suspect is described as a white male, tall with a thin build, and a moustache. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a design on the front, blue jeans, white sneakers and a hat. He has a tattoo on the inner part of his left forearm.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Henderson Police Department at 831-1295 or Crime Stoppers at 831-1111. All calls placed to Crime Stoppers are anonymous.
