Single-Vehicle Injury Collision on KY 70

Accident Injury 01 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (5/10/13) - The Kentucky State Police (KSP) investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on KY 70, approximately 5 miles west of Midland, on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 12:15 p.m.
 
The preliminary investigation revealed that Ann T. Sims, 21 of Willisburg, KY, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound on KY 70 when her vehicle hydro-planed on the wet roadway.  Ms. Sims lost control of the vehicle and it traveled into the westbound lane where it struck a bridge.  The vehicle came to rest in the westbound lane.
 
Ms. Sims, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment.  There were no passengers.
 
Trooper Jerry Knight conducted the investigation.  Trooper Jerrod Hearld, the Bremen Volunteer Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
