State Police Report Accident with Canine

bicycle accident 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/16/13) - A two bicycle accident involving a canine with possible injuries was reported by Kentucky State Police on Thurs., Aug. 15 at 6:37 p.m.

Dakota Watkins of Owensboro stated he was with a large group of people riding their bicycles on KY-657 when a large dog ran in front of him. Watkins stated he tried to stop but was unable to and struck the dog. The impact caused Watkins to fall off his bicycle onto the ground. The impact also caused Megan Sims of Owensboro to run into Watkins and she fell to the ground. Both Watkins and Sims sustained injuries and were transported to the Owensboro Medical Health System by Yellow Ambulance. Both were treated for their injuries. The dog was not located.
