Cadiz Man Pronounced Deceased at the Scene

breakingnews FATALACCIDENT 300Oak Grove, Ky. (10/30/13) – The Kentucky State Police investigated a fatal accident at approximately 4:41 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the mile maker 81 and Interstate 24 in Oak Grove.

Carl F. Mason, 63, of Cadiz was driving eastbound on I-24 and approaching the northbound exit ramp of the Pennyrile Parkway. A witness told police that his vehicle made an abrupt lane change, causing him to drive off into the median and passing in the right lane.

Mason attempted to exit at 81 mile marker but failed to negotiate the right turn. Mason’s vehicle exited the left shoulder of the roadway and traveled down the embankment. His vehicle then overturned and hit a ditch filled with large rock, coming to a final rest on top of the ditch.

Officials say Mason was wearing his seatbelt.

Mason was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Christian County Assistant Coroner.
