HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (12/17/13) - Representatives of Madisonville Community College (MCC) and Murray State University (MSU) met on Wednesday, December 4, to sign a transfer agreement between the Associate in Applied Science in Advanced Integrated Technology offered by the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and the Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Engineering Technology offered by MSU. MCC’s Chief Academic Affairs Officer Dr. Deborah Cox shared, “This agreement signifies a new opportunity for students in our area to advance from the Associate Degree at MCC through to the Bachelor’s Degree at MSU without missing a step. The Advanced Integrated Technology program has been well received in our area, meeting the employment and training needs of our industry partners. We are thrilled to have sealed this commitment with the faculty of the Electromechanical Engineering Technology program to create a seamless pathway into high-wage, high-demand technical careers.”
 
This transfer agreement allows students to transfer the AAS in Advanced Integrated Technology and be accepted toward the degree requirements of the Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Engineering Technology as outlined. The components of the KCTCS Advanced Integrated Technology curriculum have been matched to the Electromechanical Engineering Technology program and will be credited in total toward the MSU courses identified. Students who transfer without completing the entire AAS in Advanced Integrated Technology will have coursework accepted in accordance with the CPE General Education Transfer Policy. This agreement is in accordance with the Kentucky Postsecondary Education Improvement Act of 1997 which mandates a seamless system of postsecondary education that can only be achieved by promoting ease of transfer for learners between Kentucky institutions.
