Traffic Accident Leads to Drug Trafficking, Possession Arrest

arrest popeHENDERSON, Ky. (12/31/13) - Henderson Police responded to a traffic accident that led to an arrest for trafficking in a controlled substance and several drug charges at 7:49 p.m. Dec. 20 at the 3100 block of US 41 N.

While investigation the accident, officers learned that Quavon M. Pope, 19, had an active warrant for his arrest. Officers also found individual baggies of marijuana during a search of the car. After arriving at the Henderson County Detention Center, Pope was searched again and a baggie containing 25 Lortabs were found in his sock, according to HPD.

Pope was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance second degree first offense, prescription/controlled substance not in proper container first offense. Pope was cited into court on a charge of trafficking in marijuana (less than eight ounces) second or greater offense. He was also served with two warrants for terrorist threatening third degree and criminal mischief third degree from a previous case.

Pope is currently lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center.
