Man Arrested for Assault at Christmas Celebration

arrest bonillaHENDERSON, Ky. (12/31/13) - Henderson Police responded to a fight in progress at 12:26 a.m. Dec. 25 at the Super 8 Motel located at 2030 US 41 N.

Officers found that Americo Menendez, 35, had been struck in the head by a beer bottle while celebrating Christmas with family. Artemio Bonilla, 29, was identified as the suspect by Menendez and other witnesses, according to HPD.

Bonilla was arrested for assault second degree and was lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center. Menendez was treated and released from Methodist Hospital for a laceration.
