HENDERSON, Ky. (1/14/14) - Officers with the Henderson Police made a traffic stop at the intersection of Mill Street and Powell Street around 10:48 p.m. Jan. 11, and as officers were checking over paperwork, a male in the back seat took off on foot.
Brandon Embry, 32, of Evansville, was caught by officers and began to fight before running again. He was caught again, but fought the officers and deputy, where they received minor injuries. Embry was taken into custody and taken to Methodist Hospital where he was treated and released, according to HPD.
Embry was charged with fleeing/evading police second degree (on foot), assault of a police officer third degree, resisting arrest, drug paraphernalia-buy/possess, giving police officer false name/address, public intoxication-controlled substance, bribery of a public servant, possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance first offense-methamphetamine. Embry was lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center.
The driver of the car, Jailynna Snyder, 22, of Henderson, was also charged with five misdemeanors. As a result of the traffic stop, Snyder was arrested for failure or improper signal (violation), failure of owner to maintain re-quired insurance first offense, operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure to notify address change to department of transportation, and possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited. Snyder was also lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center.
