Saul Andrew Sauls, first place winner in Ky. Governor's Mansion essay contest.HENDERSON, Ky. (4/16/14) — North Middle School has been informed that their eighth grade student, Andrew Sauls, is the first place winner in the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion Centennial Celebration Essay Contest for Grades 7-9.

Sauls, his parents, and teacher, Nan Ternes, are invited to a special celebration luncheon and awards ceremony with First Lady Jane Beshear from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion in Frankfort. At that time, the First Lady will recognize each winner with a certificate and a $100 prize.

Student essays will be displayed on the day of the luncheon. Per the contest rules, the student’s work becomes part of the permanent collection of the Governor’s Mansion where it will be displayed for a time as part of the Mansion’s Centennial year celebration.
