HENDERSON, Ky. (4/17/14) – Henderson’s North Middle School Eighth Grade Choir received an overall rating of ‘distinguished’ at the Kentucky Music Educators Association Large Ensemble Performance Assessment Tuesday, April 15, in Madisonville.
The students performed "Celebrate Music" by Joseph M. Martin and "Sanctus" by Sandra Howard. Judges' comments praised students for good vocal tone quality, correct pronunciation of Latin text, and professionalism.
The Eighth Grade Choir will perform these pieces again at their concert Tuesday, April 29, 7 p.m. at the Henderson Fine Arts Center. Choir students from all grades will also perform "oldies" rock n' roll and pop hits from the 1950s to the 1990s.
Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for students.
