muhl school board 300POWDERLY, Ky. (4/22/14) — The Muhlenberg County School System Board of Education answered the question on the minds of every school age student at their April 15 meeting.

When is the last day of school?

After a number of snow days, legislation passed in Frankfort to allow more flexibility and numerous adjustments to the school calendar, including the adding of extra days and extra hours, the final day is now set to be June 6 for students. The systems' closing day is now set for June 7.

The board also set the dates for graduations, since the total number of snow days affected the original graduation dates. According to state regulations, seniors cannot receive their diplomas until after they have finished their last day of school.

  • Graduation ceremonies will be held 6 p.m., May 30 for Bremen Elementary School.

  • The Central City Elementary School will hold their graduation ceremony 6 p.m., June 2 in Martin Hall at the MCHS West Campus on the 189 bypass.

  • Greenville Elementary School will also hold graduation 6:00 p.m., June 3 at Martin Hall.

  • Muhlenberg North Middle School's graduation and award ceremony will be held 6 p.m., June 5 at the school.
