River Run Closure May 17

River runHENDERSON, Ky. (5/1/14) —The City of Henderson is supporting the 2014 River Run Saturday, May 17.

Due to the course layout, there will be a span of time in which residents who live in certain areas will not be allowed to travel on or across roadways due to the safety of participants.

The closure will be short in duration and emergency response vehicles will have access to all areas of the city.

  • Residents on the west side of North Elm Street between Park Way and Barker Road will not be allowed on North Elm Street or to cross North Elm Street between 7:45 a.m. and 9 a.m.
  • Residents who live off of Barker Road, Sunset Lane, and Stratman Road will not be allowed on or to cross those roadways between 7:45 a.m. and 9 a.m.

Intersections will open as the last participant, followed by a marked car, passes the street.

Race organizers and city officials understand that this will be an inconvenience. Please support the River Run and help promote healthy lifestyles in the Henderson community.

Refer to the River Run website for further details on the race and monitor HPD on Facebook ('like' our page), or Twitter the day of the race for more information.
