Business Spotlight - K & M Greenhouse

kmgreenhouse muhlK & M Greenhouse Greenville, Ky.GREENVILLE, Ky. (5/8/14) — Formally known as “Rowland’s Greenhouse,” K & M Greenhouse is Muhlenberg County’s largest producer of locally grown vegetable and bedding plants.

“This is a family owned and operated business, that has been in business since the late 1940s,” said owner Marilyn Laster. “My son and I have operated this business since 2000, which makes us in our 14th season.”

Laster said they were trained by the previous owner A.W. Rowland.

“Mr. Rowland operated this business until his 80th birthday,” said Laster. “He has more knowledge about plants than my son and I put together.”

Laster said the greenhouse carries tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers, melons, a variety of bedding plants, hanging baskets, geraniums, ferns, and seed for gardeners.

“We really try to give good customer service,” said Laster. “We have people who wait on our customers instead of just sending them into the greenhouses with no assistance.”
