Moore Presidential Scholars Selected

brescia blue 300Owensboro, Ky. (5/9/14) — Brescia University announces the selection of two new Moore Presidential Scholars for the fall semester of 2014.

The students selected this year as Moore Presidential Scholars are Dakota Barron, computer and mathematical science major from Christian County High School in Hopkinsville, Ky.; and Andrea Flood, major undecided from Breckinridge County High School in Hardinsburg, Ky.

The returning Moore Presidential Scholars are Evan Bickerstaff, Chase Carrico, William Johnson, Marketa Kreuzingerova, Mary McClure, Alexxis Ross-Logan, Victoria Shaffer, and Julianna Whitfill.

In November 2007, Joe ’74 and Jeanne Moore established the Moore Presidential Scholars program with a gift of one million dollars. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize students who have distinguished themselves by their high academic achievement, their leadership skills and their involvement in co-curricular activities. This most prestigious award and position will enable students to cultivate their leadership skills, provide valuable service to the University and to make important contacts that may be helpful as they consider their professional lives.

Those selected as Moore Presidential Scholars will play a significant role in assisting President Hostetter in representing the University at a variety of events during the course of the academic year.

Moore Scholars will have the opportunity to meet influential business, educational, political and civic leaders while providing service to Brescia University.
