Deborah-HarmanDeborah Harman HENDERSON, Ky. (7/16/14) — Ms. Deborah Harman will assume the position and related duties of principal at Bend Gate Elementary effective immediately.

She will replace Doria Bugg who was named the Henderson County High School Curriculum Assessment and Planning Coordinator.

Harman is a graduate of West Virginia University where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. She also attended Indiana Wesleyan University on a Planned Sixth Year Program.

Harman has 33 years of experience in education. She most recently served the Henderson County School System as a Speech Pathologist at Cairo Elementary.

Harman noted, “I cannot begin to express how honored I feel to have been chosen to lead Bend Gate Elementary School’s team on their continued journey to greatness. I bring previous administrative experience to Bend Gate, having previously served as Union County’s Director of Special Projects. I have served as Cairo Elementary School’s Speech-Language Pathologist for five years as and as the district’s lead SLP. Most importantly, I bring a passion for leading, learning and teaching to Bend Gate Elementary. Let me say, once more, how grateful I am to have been given this opportunity. There is much to be accomplished and I am ready to step into my new role as soon as possible.”
