Accident Injury 01 green 300SLAUGHTERS, Ky. (7/25/14) — A man working with a mowing crew along the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Park was rear ended on a tractor by a vehicle at about 4:50 p.m. Thursday, July 24.

According to a Kentucky State Police report, Jose Garcia, 42, Batesville, Ind., was part of the crew mowing at the 57 mile marker while Henry Wall, 81, Clarksville, Tenn., was driving a 2014 Toyota 4 Runner north on the parkway. Wall failed to see Garcia as he was in the process of crossing a bridge to continue mowing the median, when Wall struck the tractor from behind.

The report said Wall was transported by PHI to St. Mary's in Evansville for treatment. Garcia did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision. Both Wall and Garcia were wearing seat belts.

Trooper Nathan Craft investigated the collision. Trooper Bob Winters, the Webster County Sheriff's Department, Webster County EMS, Sebree Fire and PHI assisted at the scene.
