Wes Miller Public Relations OfficerGREENVILLE, Ky. (8/21/14) ― An armed home invasion in Greenville triggered activation of the newly-formed Muhlenberg County Investigative Task Force.

Wes Miller of the Greenville Police Department serves as the public relations officer for the police department and for the task force.  According to Miller, the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department responded to a call on Reynolds Cemetery Lane off Cave Springs Road today at about 5 a.m.

Three white males armed with guns held the homeowner hostage while they robbed him of his property.  When faced with the scope of the investigation and the seriousness of the crime the Sheriff's office activated the task force.

The investigative taskforce was put together this past spring and consists of every law enforcement agency in Muhlenberg county.  Its goal is to solve major crimes by putting procedures in place which allow the various agencies to work together and share information to facilitate closure of these cases.

"The task force allows all officers from the other agencies to help solve the crime," said Miller.  "No one department is burdened with the investigation."

Miller urges all citizens to be aware of their surroundings and to be cautious of suspicious individuals near their homes.  If you have any information regarding this crime you can call the Sheriff's Office at (270) 338-3345 or Central Dispatch at (270) 338-2200.
