HENDERSON, Ky. (3/11/13) – Monty Parrish and Pem Pfisterer Clark were honored Thursday, March 7, at the Chamber's 2013 Agriculture Awards Breakfast at the Henderson Fine Arts Center.
Parrish was named the 2013 Agriculturalist of the Year. Co-owner and operator of Parrish Farms, Parrish is known as an innovative and progressive farmer who also donates time and resources to many other community activities.
Clark was given the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award in Agriculture in recognition of her 24 years of service in the tobacco growing industry. Clark's influence and scope of work in advocating on behalf of tobacco farmers extended around the country and the world.
The breakfast was also highlighted by a keynote address from Roger Thomas, executive director of the Governor's Office on Agriculture Policy.
