Third Annual Kings of the Court Basketball Tournament

RELAY LIFE 300PADUCAH, Ky. (4/10/13) – The date is set for the 3rd annual Kings of the Court Basketball Tournament to benefit Relay for Life. The tournament will be held Saturday, April 27 at 11 a.m. at Haws Gymnasium on the campus of West Kentucky Community & Technical College. All proceeds from the tickets, t-shirt sales, concessions, and sponsorships will benefit Relay for Life, the main fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. The goal is to raise at least $2000 from the tournament.
 
This year’s tournament theme is Hoops to Help! At the tournament, the Paducah Police Department will battle WPSD Local 6 for bragging rights and the travelling trophy. Tickets are $5.00 per person for adults and $3.00 per person for children ten years old and younger.
 
The City of Paducah’s Relay for Life Team is selling t-shirts for the tournament. The red t-shirts are $12 each for sizes small up to XL and $15 each for sizes XXL and XXXL. Order forms are available on the City of Paducah’s website, www.paducahky.gov. Orders will be accepted by fax to Police Department Investigative Assistant Malinda Elrod-Baltz at the Police Department at (270) 575-9635 or by phone at (270) 444-8553. The deadline to order and pay for the shirts is noon on Monday, April 15. Payment must be in cash or check. Please make checks out to Malinda Elrod-Baltz.
 
To help make this tournament a success, the City of Paducah Relay for Life team is encouraging the participation of sponsors. Contact Malinda Elrod-Baltz if you would like to be a sponsor. There are three levels of sponsorships:
 
• Level 1, $500—Sponsor’s name will be used in all advertisement and promotion, be included in the signage at the event, and will be given special recognition during the event.
• Level 2, $250—Sponsor’s name will be included on signage at the event and will be given special recognition during the event
• Level 3, $100—Sponsor’s name will be announced during the event.
 
Last year’s event raised $1200 for Relay for Life. WPSD was the 2012 tournament winner and currently holds the travelling trophy. The City of Paducah thanks WKCTC and Coca-Cola for their support of this event.
