HENDERSON, KY (1/10/12) – On Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, U.S. Marshals and the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force members were attempting to serve an arrest warrant at 1221 ½ Atkinson Street in Henderson.
When the agents made contact with a subject at the front door of the residence, they noticed a strong chemical odor and observed an active meth lab in plain sight on a table in the kitchen of the residence. One other individual was located at the residence.
The house was evacuated for safety reasons. KSP was contacted by the U.S. Marshal Service to respond and clean up the hazardous materials. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed on the residence.
Items located included 5.1 grams of finished meth product, a large amount of various drug paraphernalia, one handgun, and numerous items commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine, along with an undisclosed amount of currency.
Michael Adcock Jr. and Kirsten Shaberts, both of Evansville, IN, were arrested and charged with Manufacturing Meth 1st offense, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st offense, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
