HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (2/29/12)—After alledgedly exposing himself in front of a female victim near an area cemetery, one local resident was arrested by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department (HCSD) and lodged in the Hopkins County Jail on three charges.
As HCSD Deputy Jeremy Crick reports of the incident, the victim linked to this incident, first contacted law enforcement in regard to the occurrence on Tuesday, February 28th.
As she explained, a male had leapt in front of her vehicle on Hicklin Cemetery Road and exposed himself. She stated that the man was masked with a toboggan and gave a detailed clothing description. Regarding the scenario’s specific details, the victim told authorities that after the man had exposed and “manipulated” himself in front of her, he jumped back into the nearby wood line.
While the victim says the incident happened in a mere matter of seconds, she immediately fled the scene afterward and contacted police from the nearby CTS parking lot in Anton, KY.
Once on the scene, Deputy Crick and other members of the HCSD were able to locate the subject in question. As indicated, the male suspect was found in his vehicle, which was parked in Hicklin Cemetery. His appearance and clothing matched the description the victim had given. The subject was identified as 21 year-old Madisonville resident, William Herron.
In addition to a charge of indecent exposure, Herron was also charged and arrested on counts of failure to register a transfer of his vehicle and failure to produce insurance. Herron has since been released from custody.
