Hopkins County Schools Held at Normal Hours

hopkinsschool 300HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (3/5/12) - School will be held as scheduled Monday at Madisonville North Hopkins High School.

The damage from Friday's storm has been cleaned up, thanks to long hours put in by the clean-up crew and construction workers, according to Principal DeDe Ashby. Power has also been restored.

The engineers have given school officials the all-clear to use the hall where the metal roof was damaged. Traffic at the school will follow normal patterns, and no one will be required to change rooms.

The original roof, which was below the metal roof, is still in place and has been repaired. Additional work on the roof will occur later.

Ashby thanked the custodians and teachers who worked this weekend moving computers and supplies.

In a related matter, the boys regional basketball tournament will continue at MNHHS on Monday and Tuesday, as planned.
