Pride Elementary Principal Caught Kissing Pig

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (5/3/12) – Pride Elementary School students more than reached their goal in a collection to benefit the school’s Relay for Life team.
 
In return, Principal Cristy Tomes did what she had promised. She kissed a pig during a school assembly on Wednesday, April 25. In addition to Miss Piggles, other visitors taking part included Madisonville Mayor David Jackson and School Resource Officer Cobb.
 
Students were congratulated for raising a total of $373.46.
 
In addition to the “Pride Planet” team, several other teams raising money for the American Cancer Society through Relay for Life are part of Hopkins County Schools. Teams that have registered online include Hanson Elementary, Hopkins County Central High School Lettermen, HCCHS FFA, Hopkins County Central Salty Ladies, Hopkins County Schools Central Office, Madisonville North Hopkins High School, Southside Elementary, and two teams from West Broadway Elementary.
