Burglary at Fast Lane in Madisonville

ampliesslaton 300MADISONVILLE, KY (5/7/12) – On Sunday evening, Madisonville Police Department (MPD) received a report of a possible burglary at the Fast Lane convenient store located on East Center Street in Madisonville.

Once on the scene, MPD officers found that the glass on the front door of the building was shattered. An inspection of security camera footage revealed that an individual had entered the building with a plastic bag and took 20 packs of Newport cigarettes.

An employee told SurfKY News that the glass had been shattered with a brick. The Fast Lane employee also mentioned that security camera footage showed the individual grabbing a granola bar and eating it on the way out of the store.

Within a short period of time, Amplies Slaton of Nortonville was arrested on Burglary charges.

Slaton is currently housed in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
