MADISONVILLE, KY (11/28/12) – The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office has reported an arrest of a Nortonville man on Meth-related charges.
According to Sheriff’s Office officials, On Tuesday, November 27, at approximately 3:00 PM, Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Bailey was patrolling the Hicklin Road area of Anton when he observed a white male walking in the gravel parking lot of Crop Production Services in Anton, carrying a frosted fire extinguisher. Deputy Bailey stopped the individual and noticed a strong smell of Anhydrous Ammonia coming from the extinguisher.
The male, identified as Ty Gaston of Cedar Lane in Nortonville, was determined to be transporting Anhydrous Ammonia. Gaston had apparently stolen the chemical from a tank at Crop Production Services.
Gaston was arrested and lodged in the Hopkins County Jail. In addition to being charged with Knowingly Possessing Anhydrous Ammonia, with Intent to Manufacture Meth, Gaston also had four arrest warrants for Contempt of Court and one for Non-payment of Fines.
