Rotary Sets Goals for 2013

rotary 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/18/13) – In advance of its annual auction, the Madisonville Rotary Club affirmed their goals for this year. It is an ambitious list for an organization of only 60 members.

The club will sponsor a concession stand for a new archery building for Hopkins County. The club has designated $25,000 for the project.

Another one time goal is to help the YMCA by providing starter blocks for the swimming pool. The cost will be $13,000.

For several years the club has added scholarships to its Rotary Student Loan Program. This year, the club will provide $5,000 in scholarships to North Hopkins and $5,000 to Central. The application process has not been determined.

Karen Glenn, Madisonville Rotary Club president said, “The Rotary Club of Madisonville is proud to support the youth of Hopkins County. This announcement of rotary contributions is an example of the commitment of its members to make a difference in our community. We look forward to a successful 2013 auction and ask for everyone to come out and support such a worthwhile cause.”

The club’s goal is to raise $50,000 with the 2013 Auction which will run from April 29th to May 3rd.
