Owensboro Police Report Activity

opd arrestlog2 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (4/9/13) – The Owensboro Police Department had released the following arrest activity for the dates of May 5 to May 9.

On May 5, Denny Harding, of English, Ind., was charged by the Owensboro Police Department as an alleged fugitive from another state. The warrant, served around 3:30 p.m., was from Crawford County, Ind. Harding has been charged by Crawford County officials on alleged child molestation charges. Harding is currently housed in the Daviess County Detention Center pending pickup by Crawford County Officials.

On May 8, Sarah Lyons was stopped by loss prevention officers at Wal Mart’s Highway 54 location, for allegedly trying to steal merchandise totaling $142. Officers from Owensboro Police Department charged Lyons with “Theft By Unlawful Taking” at 12:19 p.m.

On May 8, Morgan Whittaker, of the 3300 block of Taylor Road in Philpot, was observed by loss prevention officer at Wal Mart, 5021 Frederica Street, allegedly attempting to steal merchandise in the amount of approximately $25. Whittaker was charged and arrested at 2:10 p.m. with “Theft By Unlawful Taking.”

On May 8, Philip Stewart, of the 500 block of Madison Street, was observed by officers from Owensboro Police Department not wearing his seatbelt while operating a motor vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and allegedly located items including digital scales, a baggie with suspected powder cocaine, and a baggie containing Xanax bars. Stewart was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense, and also was served a warrant for Contempt of Court, Libel/Slander.

On May 8, I.B.J. Embry, of 2001 Hall Street, was involved in a traffic stop with Philip Stewart. Officer also charged Embry with Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offence, and Possession of a controlled Substance, since neither Embry nor Stewart would admit to owning the paraphernalia. In addition, Embry was charged with Failure to Wear a Seatbelt and No Operator License-Moped. Embry was also served a warrant for Failure to Appear.
